Kelly Frailing Excellence in Online Teaching Award

The Kelly Frailing Excellence in Online Teaching Award recognizes Loyola faculty whose performance exemplifies a commitment to excellence in online teaching, online course development, innovative online pedagogical development, and online student engagement. The award winner will receive a plaque, a $1,000 one-time stipend, will be announced at the next President’s Convocation, and will be featured on the award website and their exemplary course will be featured. The award is open to full-time or part-time faculty members who meet the following requirements: delivery of online courses at Loyola for two or more years and completion of at least one Quality Matters course review. Awardees are eligible to receive the award more than once, but not more than once in a period of three years.
Any member of the University community may make a nomination(s) including students. Nominations should include the name of the nominee and the name of an exemplary online course. Self-nominations are allowed and encouraged! Members of the committee determining award recipients will be chosen after nominations are made and will be drawn from the CTRL Advisory Committee and the Online Program Directors Committee. After a nomination is received, the nominee will be contacted and asked to provide supporting materials.
Award materials will include a narrative statement from the candidate outlining activities in the area of online teaching.
